Avaaz hit the 10 million people mark today. There are some articles provided looking into the structures and power of avaaz like in the Guardian http://tinyurl.com/3fv2wv5 , the Economist http://tinyurl.com/25o3q99 and the Times http://tinyurl.com/3jefook

I am still not sure what to think about Osama bin Laden's death, as it would not the first time that everyone believes he is dead but he isn't in fact.

But it is interesting to see that people get information more out of facebook than the newspaper. I also find myself reading the score of tennis games on facebook instead of the newspaper, because I know that my tennis-colleagues are going to post them.

The advertisment next to the article on standard.at is really disturbing. I doesn't fit to the content at all!

Have you noticed the ad in the left corner of the standard.at article? I find it completly disturbing and unethical to advertise a game like "special forces" (which was shown during my first visit) next to an article that deals with the death of people in a tornado!

It´s incredible. I also read it on FB and didn´t hear it on the radio first. But I´m more online than listening to radio or watching TV.

I mean social media grows by it selves, there is no one behind except normal people.

This story below may show which effects facebook also has in an destroyed area. The people lost almost everything (their home, cars, relatives, friends) but they are still connected to FB and try to find their stuff. They are proactive.

I'm sure they have pr-coaches - (Is there a difference between spin-doctors and pr-people?). For interesting insights see another thesis of armin wolf titled „Der Sieg ist das Bild: Die Inszenierung von Politik in der Mediengesellschaft" (http://www.nlp.at/hl/medien/wolf.pdf)
Talking about the PR of Austrian political parties I found a very amusing press release: Can you find out what they try to say? Does the socialist-press-staff really think, that we are interested in a governor watching "dancing stars"?

It surprises me that they don't have PR-coaches already. Isn't it common for politicians to have those (at least in America... in films ^^). And if that's the case then those coaches are really bad at doing their job ;)

I also think that we have a very stable democratic system (at least we have democracy, which we shouldn' take for granted...), but I think the little transparency is a problem.

Google has the hang of making itself a good image. Another example are the video tours and pictures of Google's stylish workplaces around the world. I think that's a really goog example for great marketing.
